Principal's Message

Hello Wyndham Lakes Families,

Happy New Year and welcome back!

As educators, we at Wyndham Lakes are thankful for all opportunities to impact young lives. Our students are the reason we’re here.

As the second semester is underway, the teachers and staff share one vision for our students - we want ALL of our students to become all that they can be and experience success while attending Wyndham Lakes. Through good, consistent attendance, perseverance, asking for help from our teachers, and working diligently, our students will succeed. We expect a great deal from them because they are so very capable of producing great results!   We will be analyzing our latest iReady data and taking the next steps needed for our students to be successful.

Please make sure your child comes to school on time.  Our first bell rings at 8:40 am and our tardy bell rings at 8:45 am.  Our students must be at school ready to begin the day at 8:40 am so they do not miss any important information.

Students who are registered with Champions can come to school beginning at 7 am.  Other students not registered in our Champions program will be allowed on campus at 8:15 am.  Breakfast is served every day at 8:15 am.  Remember that we are not responsible for the supervision of our students until 30 minutes before the beginning of instruction.  Doors open up at 8:15 am.

Our third, fourth, and fifth-grade students have been working diligently and practicing for the upcoming FSA in April and May.  More information will be available as we get closer.

Some important dates for the month of January are -

  • January 12th- Report Cards go home

  • January 17th- MLK, Jr. Day - School and Offices will be closed

School Initiatives

We will be adding some new initiatives and celebrating our scholars during the month of November and December.

Student Success Society

During the 2nd nine weeks, we would like to celebrate the success of our scholars.  When each scholar in 2nd-5th grade scores 70% or higher on their unit reading and math assessments, they will receive a special brag tag and become part of the Student Success Society.

No Tardy Parties

Each day that 100% of the class is present for class by the first bell @ 8:40 am, the classroom receives a point. The class for each grade level with the most points at the end of the week gets to choose a class reward: Extra 10-minute Recess Time, Edible Reward: Popsicle or Popcorn, 10-minute Class Dance Party at the end of the day, or 10 Hoot Loots for each student. If multiple classes have the same number of points, each class will get a reward. Ms. Rice will send out a google form for the teacher to reflect the class reward selected.

Owl of the Week

Every week we will recognize an Owl of the Week from our classrooms!  Students will receive a small certificate and a token of appreciation.

Skyward

All Skyward Parent Access Concerns are handled by the Assistant Principal.  If you continue to have issues with our new system, Skyward, please send an email out to our assistant principal, Ms. Tammye Young at [email protected] She will be able to help you.

As your children continue learning, our staff will continue to provide the high-quality education our students deserve.  Please continue on supporting and reinforcing skills learned and do not hesitate to ask for help and support from our teachers.

Together, we can work to expect success, nothing less.
